Eczema is basically a group of various conditions which make the skin red, itchy, hot, dry and inflamed. There are many types of eczema that cause distinctive reaction patterns in the skin, which can be either acute or chronic and due to a number of causes.
According to Ayurveda, eczema or vicharchika can be primarily attributed to a poor diet and lifestyle which impairs digestion and aggravates Pitta dosha (biohumor representing Fire and Water).
Ayurveda makes use of specific purification therapies aimed at all three doshas. Here are some more Ayurvedic tips for eczema.
• Emesis therapy for Kapha
• Purgation therapy and leech therapy for Pitta/ blood tissue respectively.
• Medicated enemas for Vata
• In addition, various other measures like external remedial measures in the form of pastes/herbal baths, internal remedial measures like herbal teas, herbal mixes and the use of medicated oils and ghee are used.
